At Charlotte Montessori, we partner with parents to help provide the best for each child. That partnership helps the home to school consistency, provides background on what happens in a Montessori classroom and gives parents support as they navigate their children. There are many opportunities for the teachers to provide parent education and support.
- Weekly Emails/Newsletters…Each week, in the newsletter, you will find information regarding school events, classroom events and material specifically about the classroom. Use the newsletter as an avenue to talk to your child about things happening in the classroom and educate yourself on the Montessori philosophy.
- Parent Education Nights…. In the fall, we have 4 workshops offered to parents on Thursday evenings from 4:15-5:30. The topics cover Limit Setting & Positive Discipline (COMING THIS THRUSDAY!!), Toileting for Toddler Children, Kindergarten Curriculum, Montessori in the Home. Use the workshops to get ideas on how to bridge the home to school gap.
- Parent Club…New this year! In November, we will host a parent club. This informal evening from 4:00-5:00 is a great opportunity to bring questions about behaviors that you may be struggling with. Use the club as a time to connect with other parents who are in the same shoes as you to get support and ideas.
- Blog…The teachers rotate times to write for the blog. Topics range from handling “moments” to Montessori specific topics. Use the blog to gain more insight into our philosophy.
Montessori is not something exclusive to school! To gain the full benefits of your child’s experience at Charlotte Montessori, please take advantage of these opportunities.
