Substitute Teachers

Searching for skilled and dedicated individuals to be a part of an outstanding faculty. The ideal candidates will be dynamic, student-centered, success-oriented individuals who embrace the mission of Charlotte Montessori School.

He or she will be responsible for establishing a positive, encouraging, appropriate relationship with students in which they are both held to high standards and supported in their attempts to meet them. He or she will work with other teachers and staff as a contributing team member to present a cooperative and positive work environment.

Assistant Toddler Teacher

Assistant Toddler Montessori Teacher — Charlotte Montessori School is looking for a full time Assistant Teacher to join our team of dedicated professionals.  Applicant should have experience working with young children, and some general understanding of Montessori philosophy and curriculum.  College degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.  Charlotte Montessori School has very low teacher turnover, and we are looking for a dependable candidate that is committed to finding a long term position.  Candidates must be self-motivated, patient, energetic, and possess a positive attitude.  Candidates should be able to demonstrate respect for the child, school, and environment.  Hours are generally 8:45AM to 5:45PM, five days a week.  Promptness and dependability are a must.  Our Toddler classrooms are mixed age grouping between the ages of 15 and 36 months. 

The Assistant Teacher is an important position on a two-member teaching team in a Toddler setting. He/she helps to ensure that the classroom environment is prepared; helps with transitions to Circle, lunch, recess, and rest/nap. Is an active contributor in teacher-led classroom meetings and faculty meetings. While also playing an important role in supporting each student’s academic and social/emotional growth.

 The ability to work as a team is essential. Our Assistant Teachers are the leaders of Extended Day. We welcome your passion for the arts and sciences to enrich our program.



Classroom Coordinator

Our school is a dynamic school located in the heart of uptown Charlotte. We offer our faculty members the opportunity to join a strong community of families, educators, and students working together towards creating a legacy for the future. Programs at our school start at 15 months of age and continue through Kindergarten in a mixed age group setting.
This individual works under the direction of a Lead Teacher and under the supervision of the Assistant Teacher in helping to plan and implement an educational, enjoyable, creative, and efficient environment conducive to supporting children in developing physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively. The Classroom Coordinator is a vital asset to the Montessori classroom community who implements positive classroom management procedures, support students with conflict resolution, provides supportive instruction under the direction of the Lead and Assistant Teacher, and models respectful and responsible behavior in order to guide children. The Classroom Coordinator is flexible, supports children in developing independence while also showing sensitivity to their needs, and is skilled in supporting the Lead/Assistant Teacher in promoting a calm and peaceful learning environment. Hours are 10:30 am to 5:45 p.m., and the position is Benefits Eligible.

This person truly loves working with children, and is committed to helping them build a solid educational foundation, developing strong social and emotional competency, and inspiring a life-long love of learning. EXTENDED DAY: This person works directly with our Assistant Teachers to provide a safe and nurturing experience for our school’s students. The optimal person for this position will be energetic, playful, organized, have a zest for learning, and a strong ability to work collaboratively with others in support of children. Our Extended Day staff collaboratively plan and implement creative ideas to infuse the Extended Day experience with unique, fun, safe, and engaging activities. .
