Admissions Process

Charlotte Montessori School cultivates a strong connection between home and school. We recognize that parents are our greatest partners and we encourage a close relationship between the two.

Charlotte Montessori’s Admissions Process is designed to help families gain a deeper understanding of Montessori education and explore its suitability for the entire family. Charlotte Montessori School has no religious affiliation and welcomes students of every race, sex, color and national or ethnic origin.

It is understood when a child is accepted for enrollment at Charlotte Montessori School that the parents or guardians will make every effort to support the child and the school by informing themselves of the Montessori philosophy and by applying its principles as closely as possible at home. In the event that the home and school’s philosophies are not in agreement, and in order to avoid confusion for the child, the parents will be asked to seek another school whose philosophy and approach is more aligned with their own.

In general, children enter the Toddler Program at the age of fifteen months or the Primary Program at the age of three. To enter the Primary Program, children must be three years of age and toilet trained. Siblings of current Charlotte Montessori students are given priority for acceptance.

Tour/Open House

Tours are available by appointment and we have several Open Houses scheduled throughout the year. The tour takes about 30 to 40 minutes and is scheduled for 10am normally on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please take a look at our calendar to find an upcoming Open House or call us to schedule a tour.

Parent Meeting and Class Observation

We will schedule a class observation for the parents once an application is submitted. After this visit our director will meet with you to offer more in depth information about the school and answer any questions you may have after your visit.

Child Evaluation

During the parent meeting, you will schedule your Child Observation. This observation is a time for our teachers to get to know your child and an opportunity for the parent to observe their child in the Montessori environment.

People interested in enrolling their child may submit a completed Application for Admission. Enrollment is based on the result of an interview and evaluation. We do not discriminate on the basis of religion, race or sex or national origin.

We accept Admission Applications  year round.  Questions? Please contact the school at 704-332-7733.
